Captain America: The First Avenger Collecting $65.8 Million in 1st Weekend Opening

Captain America: The First Avenger collecting $65.8 million in 1st weekend opened ticket sales at the top film in U.S and Canada, beat Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2.

"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2" dropped to second with $48.1 million after opening last week with a weekend record of $169 million, researcher Hollywood.com Box-Office.

"Captain America", is the latest superhero from the Marvel comics library to reach the big screen and starring by Chris Evans. Produced by the Walt Disney Pictures-owned Marvel Entertainment but is being distributed by Paramount Pictures. The film cost about $140 million, according to the Internet Movie Database.

The film tells the story of Steve Rogers, a sickly man from Brooklyn who is transformed into super soldier Captain America to help the war effort. However, Captain America must stop Red Skull, Adolf Hitler's ruthless head of weaponry and leader of a terrorist organization, who intends to use a mysterious tesseract energy-source for world domination.
